Rural Resort Region
In 1996, five Colorado counties (Eagle, Garfield, Lake, Pitkin and Summit) formed the Rural Resort Region (RRR), to address regional issues affecting communities dependent upon resort economies. In January 2002, the RRR partnered with NWCCOG. This new partnership allowed the RRR to extend its membership to any county or municipality, special taxing district, not-for-profit organization, or private business interested in the issues address by the RRR. As a result, the RRR now works with 27 members.
The Rural Resort Region is an issues-based, boundaryless organization that addresses regional issues affecting its members. The group works to develop solutions and strategies by building partnerships and coalitions among entities affected by these issues.
