Kristin Green

QQ Policy Advisor & Member Services Manager

Kristin is currently director of the Northwest Colorado Council of Government’s Water Quality/Quantity Committee (QQ). She holds a PhD in natural resources and environmental studies from the University of New Hampshire and a master’s in environmental and natural resource law and policy from the University of Denver. Kristin had five years of professional experience working with Colorado water policy before beginning her graduate studies. Her research has focused on the role of state and local governments in permitting water projects in Colorado and meaningful consultation between Tribal Nations and U.S. agencies regarding stewardship of lands and waters.

Born and raised in Oklahoma, Kristin moved to Colorado to attend CU Boulder as an undergraduate. She first contemplated water management as a teenager when observing effects of reservoir releases on a section of the Caney River bordering her family’s land. Kristin feels immensely fortunate to call Kremmling, CO home where she gets to daily observe the Colorado River.
